I really like the color with your little grey bird. I wish I could have this blown up three feet tall in my living room to go with all my other red stuff.

The art you're referring to, hanging in the La Condesa taco shop, is a copy of MY original art. I created this poster art in September 2009, and the restaurant didn't open or start displaying the paintings by Galavalos y Garcia and Ramirez until 2010.

Their artwork was never online until 2010. I've never been to Mexico - I don't even have a passport. How would I have seen their work to copy it?

LOVED seeing a walk-through of this process. :)

I tend to photoshop all my sketchy bits together once I have them where I like them, too, easier to rearrange things, resize if needed, and such, before it goes to the final paper. That really dark background from the first attempt *would* make for fantastic texture in digital work, it looks so mysterious and a dark, foggy night. :)

Glad to hear you enjoyed working with the Bombay Inks, you've definitely convinced me to try them out... you enabler, you. ;)

I love your illustrations for Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of Nimh! I just finished watching it with my little son. I doubt he loves it quite as much as I do but I'll give him time.

Best,

Casey

This is absolutely beautiful. I wish it was cool to copy other people's genius, because I would do it. I also love the octopus sketch you have up. I am actually getting work done on a large octopus piece right now. Amazing. Truly
